Support for Students Under 18

For students aged 16 and 17, additional safeguarding measures are in place to ensure a safe and structured environment while studying in the UK.

These measures include:

• Carefully selected accommodation options

• Regular accommodation check-ins with designated staff

• A 10:00pm curfew

• Clear accommodation rules and expectations

• Supervision arrangements where required

If a student under the age of 18 requires emergency medical treatment, a member of staff may accompany them to hospital and remain with them until appropriate support arrangements are made.

These safeguards help ensure younger students are well supported while living and studying in Cardiff.

If a student has concerns about their safety or the safety of another student, they should speak to a member of staff as soon as possible.

College staff are trained to respond to safeguarding concerns and will ensure appropriate action is taken to protect students.

Safeguarding concerns may include situations such as abuse, exploitation, serious mental health concerns or other risks to a student’s safety or wellbeing.

If someone is in immediate danger, emergency services will be contacted.
