Studying at Cardiff and Vale College is about more than just attending classes. Our Student Experience Programme is designed to help international students explore the UK, meet new people and enjoy their time in Cardiff.
We believe that education extends beyond the classroom. Taking part in activities and events helps students build friendships, develop confidence and create lasting memories during their time in the UK. Throughout the year, the programme offers a variety of trips, social events and cultural activities organised by the International Team.
Trips Around the UK
Students have the opportunity to join organised trips to explore different parts of the United Kingdom. These trips allow you to experience famous cities, historic landmarks and beautiful landscapes.
Popular destinations include:
London, Bath, Oxford, Bristol, Welsh castles and coastal areas
These trips give students the chance to see more of the UK while spending time with friends and classmates.
Social Events
The Student Experience Programme also includes regular social events where students can relax and enjoy time together outside of their studies.
Activities may include:
International student meet-ups, games and sports activities, film or quiz nights, food and cultural events. These events help students meet new people, make friends and feel part of the college community.
Cultural Activities
Students will also have opportunities to learn more about life in the UK and Wales through cultural activities.
Examples include:
Visits to museums and historic sites, cultural festivals and local events, exploring Cardiff’s parks, markets and attractions, activities introducing Welsh culture and traditions. These experiences help students better understand the history, culture and traditions of the UK.
International Student Community
Cardiff and Vale College welcomes students from many different countries each year, creating a diverse and supportive international community on campus.
Through the Student Experience Programme, students can meet people from different cultures, share experiences and build friendships that often last long after their studies finish.
Monthly Activity Calendar
The International Team organises activities throughout the year as part of a monthly activity calendar.
Students will receive information about upcoming trips and events through college communication channels and can sign up to take part in activities that interest them.
The calendar changes each month, providing regular opportunities to explore the UK, meet new people and enjoy student life at Cardiff and Vale College.
