During your studies at Cardiff and Vale College, you will use several digital systems to stay connected and manage your learning.

These systems allow you to access your timetable, communicate with teachers, receive important updates and complete coursework.

We recommend installing the following apps on your phone, tablet or laptop before your course begins. Your teachers will also help you set up these systems during your first week at college.

  • MyCAVC is the College’s student portal and one of the most important systems you will use during your studies.

    Through MyCAVC, students can:

    • View their timetable

    • Access important college information

    • Receive announcements and updates

    • Access key student services

    You will receive your login details after enrolment, allowing you to access the portal.

  • Microsoft Outlook is the College’s official email system.

    All important communication from teachers, tutors and college staff will be sent to your college email address.

    Students should check their email regularly to make sure they do not miss important messages or announcements.

  • Microsoft Teams is used for communication and online learning.

    Teachers may use Teams to:

    • Share learning materials

    • Set assignments

    • Hold online classes or meetings

    • Communicate with students

    Students may also use Teams to collaborate with classmates on group projects and discussions.

    All international students are also added to the Student Experience Hub Teams channel. This channel is used by the International Team to share updates, information and announcements about the Student Experience Programme, including upcoming trips, social activities and events throughout the academic year.

  • Microsoft Authenticator is used to securely log in to your college accounts.

    This app provides additional security and may be required when signing in to college systems such as Outlook, Teams or MyCAVC.
